Radio Nepal is the state-owned broadcasting service of Nepal. its established on 2 April 1951.
in the beginning, the transmission lasted for almost 5 hours through a 250-watt short-wave transmitter.
Over the decades, Radio Nepal has made strong its institutional capacity moderately and diversified itself in terms of program format, technical efficiency, and coverage.
It airs different types of programs on shortwave, mediumwave and FM frequencies.
Regular programming broadcasts last for sixteen hours in a day, which adds in two hours of regional broadcasts between 9:30 and 11:00 in the morning and 18:05 and 18:30 in the evening.
However, on public holidays, there are two hours more, extending the total duration to eighteen hours.
